Configure DNS on Router

Configure custom DNS directly on your router so all devices on your network benefit automatically. Compatible with most home routers.

Access Admin Panel

Open your browser and go to your router's IP (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1). Log in with admin credentials.

Find DNS Settings

Look for sections like "Internet Settings", "WAN", "DNS" or "Advanced Settings".

Change ISP DNS

Change from "Obtain automatically" to "Use these DNS servers" or similar.

Configure Custom DNS

Enter desired DNS servers: Primary DNS: 1.1.1.1, Secondary DNS: 8.8.8.8. Save and restart router if necessary.

Additional Tips

  • Write down original DNS before changing in case you need to revert
  • Restart the router after saving changes
  • Some ISPs block DNS changes; contact your provider if you have issues
